philosophy

Wild Orchard green tea comes from a 1,000-hectare tea plantation on Jeju Island in South Korea, where the soil is rich in minerals from the native volcanic rocks. Abundant rainfall naturally keeps the green tea trees well-hydrated, while the permeable volcanic soil ensures proper drainage. Constantly circulating winds keep pests away, and the farm's location provides a gentle sea breeze, offering beneficial salinity and creating the optimal environment for our green tea plants to thrive.
Wild Orchard's green tea trees originate from seeds grown on our organic partner farm on Mount Mongjung and were first planted on our own property on Jeju Island in 1999. Because our green tea trees were grown from seed rather than transplanted, they developed deeper roots, allowing for better nutrient uptake from the soil. For the first two decades, they were grown wild among weeds to acclimate them to a completely natural environment, ultimately producing a more robust and resilient green tea that still thrives today among the surrounding wildlife.

Our green tea farm is 100% organically managed without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
In 2007, we received both USDA Organic Certification and Canadian CanTEST certification after being tested for 268 chemicals. Our regeneratively farmed green teas undergo a unique and thorough four-step washing process after harvesting to remove all dirt and ultrafine particles—a growing problem across Asia that affects tea quality. Wild Orchard Green Tea proudly presents the cleanest organic green teas available.
